Biography
Dr Lorna Anguilano (Female) is a mineralogist and archaeometallurgist. Lorna was awarded her PhD at UCL in 2012 in Archaeometallurgy. Since 2008 Lorna works at Brunel University as a characterisation expert. Lorna has a vast experience on material characterisation using diffraction and electron microscopy. Lorna has been developing and optimising phyto-mining and bio-catalysis technologies to be applied to contaminated matters as well as characterising membranes and residues from water treatments (sludges) from electrochemical and purification technologies as well as residues from pyrolysis techniques. Lorna has worked in several national and international projects for the development of sustainable composites from recycled matrix using fundamental characterisation to optimise and accelerate the manufacturing route and she is the Brunel PI of the ERDF FoDTEC project and the Heathrow sponsored Oasis project. Lorna has authored many high impact publications both in the materials manufacturing and archaeomaterials disciplines and she is the quality manager of the ETC which is UKAS accredited laboratory 2245 for ISO 17025.
