Biography
Alexander Gorin is a professor of Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus. He is a holder of a conjoint Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mathematics and PhD degree in Engineering Science. Due to his achievements he has been awarded as well the Higher post-doctoral Doctor of Science degree and an Academic title of Professor. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE, UK). His research in manufacturing and machining of advanced ceramics, composite materials, fundamental heat and mass transfer studies in porous media and fluid mechanics of separated flows, biofluidmechanics, multiphase systems, transport phenomena in living systems is widely recognized in the scientific and engineering communities. He has served on numerous organising committees for international conferences, has collaborated with various international institutions. He has published more than 200 papers, including books and patents. He is a member of Editorial Boards for International Journal of Energy & Technology, Bioceramics Development and Applications, Journal of Fluid Flow Heat and Mass Transfer and has been invited as a keynote speaker for many conferences, congresses, and symposia. More than 20 PhD students have been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree for studies completed under the Prof Alexander Gorin’s supervision.
